Paper bag pocket cards

It's been awhile since I've posted.  My father became ill in November and I lost him on December 16th. We didn't want to rush into planning his "Memorial Service", so we waited until after all the holidays to do his service.  I will due a "blog tribute" to him at a later date.

I am in a women's bible study called "Within the Word" (withintheword.com).  We meet on Wednesday mornings and I am one of the small group leaders.  I love this group of women, and together, we have been thru many trials and many blessings.  We gather each week to hear God's word and learn how to apply it in our daily lives.

We had a leadership meeting this past weekend, and I was asked to do a presentation.  I was to share what I do as a leader to encourage and how I stay in contact with my ladies.   With crafting being my gift, I was so excited to share with fellow leaders.   As part of my presentation, I made each lady a small  craft kit of blank cards and embellishments.   I also wanted to show them that they could use everyday elements in making a card.  I decided to make each one of them a card out of a paper bag and include them in their kit.  Each one is different, but most of you know my style is "vintage shabby chic", so they all seemed to gravitate towards that theme.  Here are the cards I made and shared with the women:

Here are a couple of thank you cards I made for people who participated in my dad's service:

I also started making some valentine favors.  Here is the first one, and yes, it's made from an empty toilet tissue roll.  So easy to put together!

That's all for now.  I have alot of catching up to do.  I pray this year will be better year for everyone.
